Hey everyone im new to the forum and the harley world. i just bought an '08 nightster vivid black. i love the bike but they are way to quite!!!!i want something that sounds good but i dont wanna spend all the money on the fuelpak!is there any way around this or am i stuck with stock or sucking it up and spending the money on the stage one and fuelpak?
You can get a new exhaust without changing the air cleaner or upgrading the ECM. I love my vance and hines short shots, they are very loud and clean looking, but alot of people have them. Once you decide to upgrade your air cleaner is when you will need to either get a remap or upgrade the ECM.
You could also get some cycle shack slips ons for a low price. You shouldn't ahve to change anything if you just put slip ons on.
This is a good inexpensive idea that will give the bike good tone, excellent performance for the invested dollar and there quality is awesome. They also used to make the SE brand for off road that was so popular.
thanks for the help everyone!a few more questions tho.
1)if i dont go stage one and just add pipes will i lose any performance??
2)if i had to get some pipes in chrome(which i dont want to do) how far can u wrap pipes in the exhaust tape?i wanna go with the most black on my bike as possible.
go with v&h, they off the shortshots and sideshots in black.....both are sexxxy as hell on the nightster (most people run shortshots so if ya want something a less seen get the sideshots).
if ya have to go chrome get some wrap but it will fade so spray paint it on one side with black brake caliper paint, that way it will remain black instead of turning brown or dingy grey over time.
