Default Chroming cost

I want to get a set of Road6custom bars in raw steel and get them chromed myself but the only shop I can get ahold of wants $125 to chrome a set of 8" ape hangers. Does anyone else think that sounds kind of high? Does anyone know of a good chroming shop in the Olympia/Seattle area?

Mike

Lot of shops out there that will chrome stuff even if you have to ship the bars to them. Plating with all the regs. and work that is involved (parts are polished, copper, nickel and finally chrome plated) is very expensive from all I've read and just doing a single piece the shops will probably charge more just for the trouble. You might try searching around for shops that you could ship the bars off to and get it done cheaper however I would imagine the cheapest you might find is in the neighborhood of $75+ not including shipping.

Good luck.

Doesn't look too bad. I didn't realize there was chrome powder coating. Guess I better just pony up the cash for it then. I guess it was just a shock that the chrome almost cost as much as the bars.

Ronnie Brown plating in Paducha Kentucky been doin business with him for 35 years top quality. has parts shipped to him from all over the world. And I would say $125.00 for a set of ape hangers is about right. Ask for references some chrome shops are high quantity low quality.
