Sounds like a short, have you done any electrical or bar work recently? if so start there, if not I would start by visually inspecting the whole harness looking for pinched or frayed/rubed wires, if no luck there remove the switches from the grips and work down from there.

I agree with hotlap. It definitely sounds like a short circuit somewhere, like the wire from the indicator has either got frayed or loose and is making electrical contact with the starter circuit. Other possible cause could be water pooling near some connections or a frayed section of the wiring loom, which could happen if you've been washing the bike or riding in the rain.

I assume this is not a joke and you mean the RIGHT turn signal switch is what is causing this as the left hand control is not in the starter circuit in a "simple path" to cause what you describe! To have the left affect the starter would mean TSM failure (at least!) and the horn button would also engage the starter since it is on the same circuit. What you describe from the LEFT controls would mean a total reversal of current flow to ground and the starting amperage to flow through the left indicator switch resulting in much melting. Look inside the right control housing for some kind of contact with the wiring for the right turn signal indicator to the starter switch (both are "normally open" connections).
