I put 6 inch risers to my stock bars and still don't lke it. So I will be adding mini apes. I tried the bar WITH THE RISERS and I love it!
I know I will need to change ALL cables and such... is there a place I can buy them instead of the stealership? An how long do they need to be? How many and what do I need?
Please help.. they want 450.00 to install it for me (WITHOUT THE PARTS).
Any suggestions?
thanks..Lisa
Personally I don't like apes on tall pullback risers but if you like it and it feels good then by all means do it. If you're the least bit handy you or your hubby can do the work with ease (especially if you have a service manual). Get your bars on your risers first then just measure for what you need on easch cable/line as in some cases some of what you have may even work. In most cases +6" over stock cables all around works fine.
Once you determine the lengths that will work best you can find cables on ebay, jpcycles, dennis kirk, http://www.magnumshielding.com/ etc. but I will say that if you go with braided cables the cables alone will run you about $200 or so for all vs. around $100 for black vinyl.
Forgot to mention that for some of my cable stuff I just looked up what I needed in Custom Chrome or Drag. speciaties catalogs and ordered from here www.discountcycleparts.com pretty much same as Surdykes and some other discount vendors.
