R6C 14" Apes on FXDL
I'm gonna pull the trigger I think. Have been itchin' for some apes on my LR and think the R6C 14" is the deal for me. I'm gonna try and keep the stock 4.5" pullback riser (stock) and go with the kit where I get all the new cables and wires plus the bars (in flat black prob). I might however just swap out for new risers if I can find a 1-2" setup cheap enough. Opinions???

Options are limitless. Plenty of people buy the pre wired kits to save time. I bought everything one part at a time. I bought bars from one place, cables from another and a brake hose from another guy. I don't happen to like apes on tall risers, but thats just me. I do like braided hoses, cables and lines better than black (IMHO). 14 inchers are a good size and ought to look good and feel great. Remember, pics are mandatory.

I have always done it like bikerlaw does. I've always bought risers I see and gotta have, you can piece by piece and get all cables, lines, risers, and bars for around 200-250. About putting apes on taller risers you run into the risk of having alittle play between the bars and the forks

I am afraid of that little bit of play, but figured I could get through it until I find a better set of risers. Ultimately I'm thinking of a new 2" set. Anyone got a good place for risers?
