Hey all, I got an '06 Xl 1200C at an auction yesterday and need to know a few things about it. There was not an owners manual or anything, so I am kinda flying blind here. Where have you gotten a service manual from? H-D or will a Clymer cover things pretty good? The bike has Screamin Eagle exhaust and breather, but I doubt it is one, previous owner just put that stuff on there, I would imagine. I am not new to riding, just new to the H-D.
+1 on that. You can all so have a HD dealer service dept run the VIN they can tell you the in service date and what came on the bike from the selling HD Dealer.
HD has a Screamin Eagle air breather that uses the original "Can of Ham" breather cover. The filter element and the back cover plate are different and let more air in.
Easiest way to tell the difference between the appearance of the stock air cleaner and screaming eagle is the black plactic air scoop on the bottom side. The stock air cleaner has the scoop, the Screamin Eagle does not.
