My husband and I went to a bike show yesterday, on impulse I entered my bike, I got 2nd place for ladies stock. I have a 06 883L that you all have helped customize. However yesteray I saw some things that have my attention for future changes.
1. Does any body have those LED accent lights on a sportster??? I see in the catalog they have them, but not necessarily for sportsters. Will my charging system handle the lights for a all day show??? How do you wire them in, or is this a job for the stealers????
2. There was this really nice looking bike yesteray that has the blacked out motor, the motor however has the appearance of diamoinds on the edges where its not black. How is this done or who do I take it to in order to accomplish this
I've got 60 led lights on my sporty, I didn't do a kit, I bought 60 leds and resistors and put them together myself. I tested my lights and after 12 hours, the bike still started. leds barely have any pull, mine pull around 300 milliamps. I guess it depends on where you want all your lights. I had to remove my gas tank and I ran all the wire along the frame where it was hidden. Wasn't hard at all with a pack of zipties, shrink wrap, soldering iron and a multimeter. I have a remote control unit I found on ebay that controls my lights now, but i just hooked them up to one of the relays on the back fender and then grounded them.
