Default Quick 5-Cent Parking Brake

Ever park on a slope just steep enough that your bike starts to creep on the jiffy stand? Here's a quick trick I discovered that will lock your front brake and keep the bike from moving around (see pic).

NOTE: it is best if you slide Alexander's head into the gap first. Although you can't see it, the nickel I am using was minted in 1957--- hmmm, what else was minted that year?

or... just leave the bike in gear.

Sounds like a good idea, but I also park with the bike in gear.

If you are on an incline and don't have a curb you can use with the rear wheel, just let the bike roll a bit (in gear, clutch engaged) before putting down the stand.. When the engine comes up on the compression stroke the bike won't move any further, even on a pretty steep slope.

Also with the weight of the bike on the stand it can't flip up.
