Default torque settings

My buddy has a 2002 sportster 1200 and needs to know the torque sequence of the cylinder head bolts. Can anyone help?

Default RE: torque settings

My 2001 Buell (which the a Sportster Engine) has the following sequence

If you are sitting on the bike looking down toward the engine

Front cylinder 1 ----------- 3

Spark plug----->

Front Cylinder 2 ---------- 4

Rear cylinder 2 ---------- 4

Spark plug------>

Rear cylinder 1 ---------- 3

They should be tightened in order(1 to 4) to 7-9 Ft lbs, then tightened again in order to 13 - 15 Ft lbs. THEN loosen all screws.

Re tighten AGAIN as above but then each screw should be tightened a FURTHER 90 degrees ( one quarter turn)

All explained a lot better in the manual, but that is basically it.

Hope this helps
