Wifes 1200 low is equipped with the leather covered hard bags. Took a wild ride on a terrible road last year and by the time we stopped for gas, my wifes as=saddlebag lid was hanginf half off. In fact the road was so bad, that I hadn't noticed that one of my lids had popped off and I had lost a vest. Wifes bike had lost 5 of the six screws that attach the lids to a piano type hinge in the saddlebag. HD parts book for the bike do not show any parts availiable to fix it short of ordering new bags. Dealer was of no help at all. I am hoping someone has had the need to obtain these and can possibly provide a source. They a very fine thread and about 1/16 in diameter and approximately 3/8 inch long. I have been to fastener speciality store and nothing either.
might try calling the harley corporate customer service # maybe they could find out the screw size for you, maybe try another dealer and explain that the first dealer did not help, maybe another one will if you tell them the first dealer blew you off ?
take the bag into a hardware store and have someone help find a screw, all else fails, get some stainless steel rivets with washers ?
Take the remaining screw (or nuts) down to a local hardware store. There's usually a board with different size / threads you can test your nuts and bolts on to find the right size.
If they have what you need, great! If not, my next stop is the local Fastenal shop. I have yet to come across something they can't get quick.

Yeah, if you can stil find a True Value or Ace Hardware store where you live, they have a million boxes of fasteners. Bring the one screw you still have, match it on the size board and dig through the SAE screw fasteners. Even Home Depot might have it. I found my throttle housing screws that way.
Thanks guys, actually have been to Fastenall after first trying the dealer. not listed in HD parts books and fastenall could not locate a match..so fAR. I think I will give HD customer relations a call to see it they can tell me who manuafactures these bags.
