longer lower shock bolt

I am installing a vertical license plate mount on my 08 nightster and was wondering what the size of the lower shock bolt is. I'll prolly need to get a longer one cause the plate mount is thicker than what threads are on the stock one. Thanks in advance. Here is a pic of the mount:

Measure the thickness of the license mount and add that to the length of the bolt. Go to the local hardware store and get a high grade bolt the same size but the right length

Thanks. That's about what I was gonna do. Just though someone had the exact bolt dimensions.

it seems nothing is a science...I bought the 3 in lowering kit and the new bolts they gave me were too long and hit my back sprocket so I had to find new ones and i spent all day yesterday locating different bolts and nuts to remount my spedo and tac
