laydown plate mount question

Default laydown plate mount question

do you have to remove the tire to install a laydown plate mount . thanks

I didn't...just jacked up the rear a litle and stuck my arm up in the fender with a box end wrench.

i just squeezed my hand up there...one thing i did do is stop at the hardware store and picked up some stainless washers and nylok nuts, and longer allen bolts, the ones in the kit were too short to use the nylok nuts.

Nope, I didn't just snuck my hand in between tire and fender... tight fit but can be done.

Easy job , no jacking the bike up , like others said just put your arm in there , snug fit...I just put mine on..

i looked at the drag specialties one it seemed heavy or are they all built like that. thanks

Unless it's the fancy frame you want just remove yours, take out the support bracket, bend the mounting tab down and reinstall, presto...a lay down plate at no cost.

if you'll notice in my sig, my bike is lowered so it had to be jacked up a bit. also my arm is a little on the large side.

Yep...I also stuck my hand up there...tight fit...that's for sure....I couldn't see Shaquille O'Neal getting his hand up there...hehehe

I just bent the stock plate mount myself. I was able to reach up between the fender and the tire pretty easily...
