Had problems starting the bike this morning again. Hit the start button and you can here the starter click, but not turn the motor over. After several tries it final kicks in. Could this be a bad starter? Bendix or solonoid maybe? How hard is it to replace the starter on an 883 evo?
Don't work on stuf much anymore, but years ago, if it was a car, I would agree with you and try the solenoid. Now that I'm older and lazier, I'll agree with OldGeezerand suggest you buy a "battery tender" and keep it on overnight and see if that cures the problem. The reason I suggest that is that you're prob' gonna want, need one at some time in the future and it's a pretty easy way to either pinpoint or eliminate the battery. BTW, What have the morning temps been?
It really doesn't sound like a battery to em, UNLESS, it's a batery connection. You might want to check and clean the posts/terminals. Again, I'm thinking the cheapest easiest fixes first and one's you're prob. gonna want to get around to sooner or later no matter what.
Hope you get it fixed quick, easy and cheap. Let us know what happens.
Hate tto ask this, but have you checked the fuel petcock? Aren't running home on reserve again, are you???
LOL. Actually, that was the first thing I checked. No offense taken. Got plenty of gas. It fired up fine for me at lunch time. First try. Not much warmer than it was when i came to work. Around 49 degrees. I have a battery charger but I'll check into a tender. I suspect the solonoid but I'll check the cheaper stuff first. Thanks for the help as always.

My Sportster acted the same way and it turned out being a battery. It would fire right up sometimes then occasionally act up. Without seeing or hearing it, it's hard for me to say though. Good luck. Pat
