Well iv`e had my 1200 custom sportster for nearly a year now and i love it, however, i do like the new 09 street bob. I was wondering what the forums thoughts are on the dark custom thing?.... Surely a Harley should be laced in chrome ( like mine is). I love the new bobber but i don`t think i can part with my shinny bike...... anybody have any thoughts. Thanks
The 08 street bobs actually looked better because more of the engine was black. I rode a buddys and I wasn't impressed either. I'd keep that shinney little rocket.
I'd get a Street Bob.
I had a Sporty before and loved it but I have to admit I love the Street Bob even more.
I would try to find a 08 or even better an 07 though since the 09 has the awful silver engine. The 08 also had the integrated riser. The 07 is the best year of the Street Bobs so far, in my opinion of course.
Why not bob your Sportster and have the best of both worlds for less money. It's not that difficult to replicate the look of a Street bob, mini apes, bobbed fender, Sparto tail light and your done.Blam instant Sporty Bob.I've owned a Street Bob since they came out in 06 and I'm not that impressed with it either.
I went from a 2005 Sporty to my Bob and I must say that I love the Bob much more. While there was certainly nothing wrong with the Sporty, the Bob fits me much better, and is better for what I like to do.
The only thing I regret on mine is the silver engine, but I do like what I've done with it and the contrast.
They are both great bikes, but I would just rather have the bob, because I am a bigger guy, i just get what I can afford now, damn college
Tell me about it; if i took off one year of college I could pony up the money for an 09 SG, another one of my dream bikes. the springer of mine just ain't cutting it, all the time. Prolly should just get rid of the metal seat and add bags but that would look pretty silly so I think I want an 09 SG for those long trips.
