I can't tell you exactly for a 2002 883, but I have a 2005 service manual and can tell you what that tells me.
883:
125-140 psi
Compression is normal if final readings are within the range specified in Table 3-36., and do not indicate more than 10 psi variance between cylinders. If the reading is below 100 psi, then you might have ring trouble, valve trouble, or a head gasket leak.
When doing the test the transmission should be in neutral, the engine should be warm, the choke plate should be open (enricher pushed in), the throttle should be wide open, and the slide should be open (if you have a CV carb). Crank the engine 5-7 revolutions. I have found out that doing it up to 10 revolutions can give you better results especially on the rear cylinder.
