Hi all,
Does anyone know what part # or where I could get the quick release kit for my quick release back rest I just picked up for a 08 nightster? Thanks in advance for the help.
Scott, if you're contemplating saddle bags the rigid mounts may be a better choice, there are few choices that will work with the Quick Release mounts. I am in that predicament, so if I want bags I have to buy the rigid mount plate and hope it will work with my current backrest.

I think easybrackets, ghostbrackets etc. all work with detacheable hardware.
According to JP cycles, no bag mounts work with detachable backrests. I'm not so sure about that though, as long as you know of a good machinist.
Not that he even plans on using bags but I ust looked and Easybrackets work with all detachable hardware (they just use a longer bolt). Easy or Ghost brackets are used in place of factory bag mounting hardware which is why they work with detachable stuff.
I haven't seen the Easy brackets up close for the detachable backrest application, but the Edge / Ghost brackets work well. The new Edge bracket keepers will stack onto the harley keepers.
good luck
Dave
