Default anybody ever just use taller risers to lift bars?

I have been wanting to get a set of taller bars for a while and have been leaning towards a set of mini apes or Z bars. It occurred to me today that perhaps a set of taller risers like the 6'1/2" or 8" with the factory style pullback (see below) coupled with my factory bars might work instead. Anybody ever do this and if so - pics of finished results?

I've used 4" pullbacks similar to those in your picture. They work well in pulling back the bars. I actually used the risers because the mini-apes I put on weren't long enough.

The problem that you will run into with these longer pullback risers is what they do the angle of the speedometer. On my wife's 1200L the pullback risers moved the speedometer so that its face was nearly vertical, its a very strange look.

Depending on how much you go, you may have to extend the cables too

I have HD drag bars with 6" risers on my Nightster. I LOVE the riding set up it gives me. I also have forward controls. Super comfortable.

I put some spacers under the stock risers on my '05 Roadster, but still plan to use pull-back risers to mount a set of Dyna Low bars.

Put 41/2 up,,11/2 back on mine, then took 2 pieces of flat metal and bent them to make speedo and tach mount. Speedo was at bad angle.
