thanks for the replies and thoughts guys. Just sucks when stuff like this happens, but live and learn. I was thinking about taking off for good. Seen some bikes with them off and I kinda like the look of it. Now just gotta figure out how to get the darn thing off, looks like there are two bolts holding it on and one of them looks like its sandwiched between the shock mount...hmmm

yep its on the shock mount.
Remove the nut and slide the bracket off
