Default Popping

Just put on new pipes, new a/c, and installed a PCV from FuelMoto. As everyone knows, Jamie sends them out premapped. The bike runs great, I have way more power. The only problem is on decel it pops, quite a bit. I know everyone once in awhile is normal. But what about the majority of the time I lay off the throttle on high RPM's it gives a few pops? My guess was either call Jamie for a new map or take it in and get it dyno'ed. Any advice?

Is it going to jack up my engine in the short term? or is it more of a long term issue? or just ****ty gas mileage.

I'm more of a carb guy and not an expert on HD's fuel infection systems. on a carb the popping on decel is mainly an idle mixture adjustment.

I just talked to Jamie at fuelmoto, he said that the popping is because of the pipes I had, Hooker Darkside Troublemakers. His words were, because they are such a short pipe it is difficult to eliminate all the popping. He said no worries about engine damage, most popping is just the pipes and is just an annoyance more than anything. He gave me a quick fix on the map to try, and if it doesn't work he said to call back. Common problem with my pipes though.

Troublemakers, Short shots, etc will always have some popping...nature of the pipe.

Nothing to worry about.

That is a relief. Like I said, bike runs better than it did stock, just the popping. And of course that new pipes smell, it's going away quick though.

I have those exact pipes in question. She pops a bit. But I WILL tell you this. It was terrible with a can map pre downloaded in. I had mine dynoed and the fuel curve was WAAAYYYYYY off. It is much improved now and I picked up 3.5 almost 4 hp and 3.5 ft lbs torque. I'm at 77.5 hp max and 71.5 max torque. Way less decel pop too with the straightened out fuel curve.
