I bought some cheap generic 32 inch indented drags from ebay and couldn't be happier.I lean forward a little bit,but it's very comfortable to me.I also kept the stock risers.
No, just used the stock riser. Leaves the grips about 1.5 inches lower depending on the bar rotation. I have about 1 inch of clearance between turn signal and tank on the left and about 3/8 inch clearance on the right. I may move the turn signals to the forks just for grins.
It took a couple of days to get used to the (slightly forward) riding position. It felt a little strange but I'm not sure whether that was because the bars are lower or because at 32 inches the bars are several inches wider than than the stock bars.
Okay thank you. You also answered the next question I had -- whether or not you had to move your turn signals because they didnt clear the tank, but it sounds like they clear just fine.
I just ordered those same bars from JPcycles.
Thanks everyone for the feedback. It's much appreciated!
Hey... I was looking to put drag bars on my 2006, 883c and found some kool bars at Licks Cycles (not an add just info)... The guy at the HD shop tried to talk me into mini apes, that's the trendy thing right now. He said, that with drag bars the bike it will under steer in corners. Anyone heard of this??? I think he was BS'n, just to get me to buy their bars...
Peace...
Thanks to everyone for posting, I've also been toying with the idea of drag bars. Looks like I have another thing to shop for when I return to the mainland.
