3/8" is the max for cold and the min for hot (at least for my '08). That part is okay. Turn the rear wheel to find the tightest spot. Then measure deflecton from the same spot on the chain -- from the farthest you can push it down to the farthest you can lift it up. If that is 3/8", it doesn't matter if it's hot or cold.

Adjusting a clutch is simple, and I'd do it anyway (adjust a clutch COLD, not hot), but I'd also be very suprised if that fixes your problem. Is your drive belt loose?

do u push it all the way down and lift it all the way up from there for your measurement.If so i did it wrong i just measured from where it was to lifting it up
