slip on mufflers

Default slip on mufflers

on a 09 sporty how hard is it to take off the factory mufflers and install new new slip on's. i would like to make it a little louder.

not hard at all. Remove the heatshields, loosen clamp, couple of bolts and some WD-40 and they should come right off. Put on my V&H Slip-ons in under an hour.

+1 Really easy. I'd recommend the quiet baffles if you go with the V&H pipes. Put them in before you install it and you won't have to fight with the pipes twice.

I found it necessary to pull the front head pipe. The muff was on there really tight and I couldn't budge it with the headpipe in place.

What is the sound difference with the QB in? I have the same slip ons with just the standard baffle that came with them. And I was wondering if the QB installed give it a little better sound.

The sound level only really goes down maybe 2-3 dbs. However the sound itself gets deeper and less raspy. The pipes now have a deeper rumble to them and I think it's an even more "Harley" sound. I really like the sound and I believe it's a little less anoying for my neighbors.
