Ok. So I got my new VH pipes in the mail and went to remove the old ones. Talk about a PITA. The clamp on the front muffler would not slide off of the pipe due to the x-over tube.
I think I will have the clamp bolt be at the bottom instead of the inside as originally installed due to the difficulties of access for the future.
Are there any issues with this or should I rotate it as far inward as possible but still allow it to slip forward should the need arise.
On my 13' Slim, the mufflers were a pain to remove. I soaked the original clamps in WD-40 for a few minutes and that made it easier to slide the old mufflers off. Both of my new clamps are rotated to the bottom. Easier access, but they are more visible.

You have nothing to worry about.

First, remove the hose clamped pipe heat shields and get them out of your way. Remove front muffler first. When installing, install the rear muffler first and fully tighten clamp on rear muffler, once you install the front muffler, you will not have access to the rear clamp. You can put the clamps on any way you can get to them.
