I have an 09 Nightster and am looking to put a windshield on. I know, I know. Don't do it. It'll ruin the look of the bike. I never even considered it until I took a little road trip this weekend. Riding 70 into a 20 mile an hour headwind sucked. Really looking at the Memphis Shades Del Rio and Del Rey. I'm only 5'4". I measured from the top of my headlight to the tip of my nose and it's 16 1/2". The Del Rey is only 13" and the Del Rio is 15".
It'll only be on the bike for road trips and maybe when it gets cold for trips to work.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
I have a full face helmet. But, that really doesn't do anything to keep the wind off my chest. Mainly looking for something to help with feeling like I'm going to be blown off my ride.
I plan on getting a quick detach winshield but havent really looked into them much yet. I dont care for the look but when I want to take a longer trip I'm more concerned with comfort. For the most part however it will remain off.
When you make your decision and have it mounted, post some pics.
I personally would not put a shield on my bike. Especially with apes, ESPECIALLY on a Nightster. Although, I have seen a couple on here with drags and the little bug shield, and it didn't look too bad.
I just put a del rey on my 1200c. I got the quick detach mounts as I will not use it in town or on trips of less than 50 miles, but I just went for a 150 mile superslab run on it (80+mph) and it made a big difference. the sheild is small so mostly deflects wind to the chest.

How tall are you? Does it make the wind to the head worse? Any of the dreaded buffeting?? Would the 15" tall Dell Rio be better??
Thanks
