got some cool bars online & didnt realize they arent dimpled. cant do internal wiring cause the angle is to extreme(rocks chops "lanesplitters" on ebay, really cool bars)i was simlpy gonna drill out/cut my own dimples in them but now starting to think that might be a bad idea. this will obviously weaken the integrity of the bars but will it be enough for me to worry about? i plan on keeping the cuts as small and narrow as possible but...please help
i tried that. actually notched the control housing and when i fitted the lever to the housing, the notch lines up perfectly with the mounting screw. i cant notch thru that
I cut some grooves in a set of dragbars. Didn't have any problem with 'em. But then again I swapped 'em out 'cause I dind't want to find out that they were weak while I was swerving to miss a car.
Later I thought that if I had it to do over again I would try heating them up red hot and pressing a dimple into them in a vice with a piece of 1/4" rod.
The bars I purchased weren't dimpled far enough. I ended up taking an angle grinder with a grinding wheel and grinding my control housings enough on both sides to allow the wires to pass through without being pinched. Gotta do them both just enough to allow you to still use the screw holes.
