I was wondering if I can just switch air cleaners,as I really like the rsd vintage one,I had the stage 1 done last year and was just wondering if it was a matter of buying it and slappin it on,or do I need to go to the dealer and have them do it?

Buy a manual (not really necessary for changing your air cleaner) and learn to do your work yourself. Much more satisfying, it's done right and you will then know every little quirk with your bike and how to correct it. And if you do break down on the road, you'll have a better idea on how to get the bike moving again instead of instantly reaching for your cell phone and calling a stealership for a tow. The money you save in labor costs can be applied towards buying more and better goodies for your ride. If you have questions, post them here and someone will be glad to help you out. As a last resort, you can still always go to the dealer for something you think is too big for you to handle but you can make that decision yourself. And, when you get your bike back from service, you'll know how to check over their work to make sure they did a good job.

what year bike??? i have heard on fuel injection models need a re-map or tune to help them run correctly. I was gonna install a big sucker on my 09 Nightster the other day to see hot it runs without a tune.

unless it flows exactly the same I'd say yes....any change in airflow will result in a lean or rich condition...

A full stage 1 (aftermarket pipes, SE Air cleaner, And some kind of remap). You can do one or the other, pipes, or AC not both without the remap. Spend the bling, get the fuel pack or the power camander unit. If you get it right, it will smoke your boot's. No BS. HOLLYWOOD..........................
