What size / type of bit does the shock bolts take? Manual doesn't tell and what ever it is I don't have one. One of my allen wrenches fits pretty close but I don't wanna strip them out. Looks sort of like a big torx bit. Gonna have to buy one tomorrow so I only want to buy one, anybody know?

shock bolts? mine are 9/16ths top and 3/4 inch bottom.

dont use the wrong tool just go buy a set of torx bits. and harleys are mostly Standard sizes but occasionally there is a metric part somewhere

It's a T50 Torx, but ya can't work on a Harley without a set of Torx bits, which usually doesn't include a required T27 bit.

You should buy a set of torx unless you will only ever touch the shocks.Cheaper in the long run.Wal-Mart had Stanley brand for about 22 bucks when I bought mine.
