Custom will have forward controls and a pullback riser with an integrated speedo housing... What year you got? 04? The 05up( I think) customs have the larger rounded tank. Either way, yourse is not a custom. You should also check what year the seats are for... That makes a difference as well.

+1 on that is not a custom. The year matters as well as 06 and up parts are interchangeable and 05 and down won't fit 06 and up. The biggest difference is the tank. Both seats should fit, provided they are for the correct year, but if you put a custom seat on any other XL model there will be a gap between the tank and the seat and it will look a little crappy.
The 1200 to 883 is not a problem, however the model year difference may be. When looking on the HD web site some seats will fit 04 and later and others say 07 and up. I know my Mustang seat was for 04 and later but I'm not sure about that stock seat.
'04 - '06 are carburated. '07 and later (fuel infected) have different seats to allow the electronics to fit under them. There's a recess built into the seat pan. The seats for the Custom models and particular year/engine size Low models (4.5 glln tank) are slightly shorter. Your bike is not a Custom. A seat designed for your 3.3 glln tank would probably look best on your bike.
Bottom line - any seat for '04-'06 will fit any Sportster from '04-'06. However, the appropriate length seat will look best on the corresponding bike. Same for '07 and up.
It won't fit. First of all the mentioned seat changes to accomodate the EFI electronics under in the seat in 2007. Secondly, I'm pretty sure the 2007 1200xl has a 4.5 gallon tank. Only seat that will fit your bike will be from a 2004 - 2006 bike that also had a 3.3 gallon tank. I believe those bikes were limited to the 883xl, 883L, and the discontinued 883 Roadster.
The seats from a 2007 xl 1200 its the stock seat my bikes a 2005 883xl
I think the 2007 XL1200 versions were the XL1200C XL1200L XL1200N and XL1200R. I think the XL1200N and XL1200R had the 3.3 gal tank and may work for you. I would check with the mfr if the '07 will work on your '05. I think it will, but the '05 seat will definitely NOT work on the '07 without some surgery.
Look at the MFR website for fitment details, but you need specific details.
