I am having some difficulty mounting my new Jammer solo seat... is there kit that fits the 2009 Nightster? I have a few ideas but dont have access to a welder... any info would be appreciated...Thanks
I have seen a kit from V-twin Manufacturing for about $110
BUT..I thought it to be a little bit bulky under the seat since there is a cover piece that appears to go over the stock seat mount.
What about your ECM? You gonna leave it exposed? Get a new fender? put the ECM under the seat?
Do you have a problem with drilling some holes in your frame to install some studs for your springs?
This is the one i'm talking about distributed by Rich Phillips. They use to have one with pictures of it mounted on the bike.
In the Rich Phillips site it states that this model may not fit on fuel injection models
I was actually trying to copy your set up Slackster. I bought the seat springs from the ebay vendor, I made up some brackets, but due to my lack of a welding machine unable to complete this set up.... Thanks for the info on the seat kit.

Actually Rich Phillips has just finished my bike for the new kits designed for Fuel Injected Sportsters, meaning you will not have to re-locate the ECM at all. Look for more details later this week and a production for more set up for next week. 1slo6 wait about a week....I'll be posting my pics here Friday and Rich Phillips will be posting a video on assembly of the springer seat kit for Nighsters and Irons.....

This one will not work. I tried it and ended up cutting it all up trying different things before I threw in the towel & made my own brackets.
If there is a kit that lets you leave the ecm where it is that means you'll need some kind of cover and your rear fender will always be "X" amount of inches above the tire for clearance. I didn't move my ecm because of the seat. I moved it for tire clearance.

??? I guess I'll have to see it. I don't see how the ecm is in the way with the spring seat in the first place...but as far as 1slo6 goes, he has the same fender mods as me and buying a solo kit that uses the gimick of leaving the ecm where it is will be pointless.
Now, if he sells one for the Irons & Nightsters that is just the seat kit then I think it will have a market.

Honestly I have the faintest clue on the exact setup but from what has been said is that the ECM will NOT be relocated and be hidden with this kit. It is designed specifically for fuel injected Sportsters....The bike is done now and I will be picking it up tomorrow and posting pics. And yes it will market since he has been getting hundreds of requests for nightser kits. Again, look for production within the next couple of weeks. I haven't touched my bike since I just bought it a little over a week ago, so maybe I got confused on the issue on the ECM....I thought the issue was relocation with springer seats since that is what I have read regarding installing these seats...But since you ahve done that already you know more than me...Thanks.
I am not sure, but is the frame of the Nightster aluminum or steel??? I might just make up my own brackets... I have already relocated the ECM and made a seat pan to cover the hole under the seat.
I would be interested to see if the new kit would work on my 1200c with a 4.5 gallon tank. I know when i got my mustang seat there was a separate part # for each tank size. I think a kit that doesn't require moving the ecm would be a very popular item.
