Default Tail Light conversion light bulbs

I changed out my wifes bike this evening with the conversion to change her rear turn signals into brake lights with turn signals. I noted that the old bulbs were like 1156 bulbs or the like, however with the conversion I note that they work fine with brake application and work fine with the turn signal application, but not working when brakes and turn signals are applied at the same time. No doubt beacause they are NOt used with a dual ellement bulb. A 1157 cant be used because the off set tabs at the base and single post in the socket base,

What have you all used to correect the issue?????????????????

I did the conversion as well and have had no problems with the 1156 bulbs. maybe there is a deeper issue?

Mine works fine with the 1156 (single element) bulbs.

I do not know what you have but the problem arises within the single filament bulb (1156) it lights up for either the turn signal or the brake. It can not light up for both at once. you can not put a duel filament bulb in because it is not wired for a duel filament bulb. (1157) this bulb allows one to be lit (turn signal or marker light) and the other to come on (brake) while the other is lit simultaneously. I suggest you take the kit back and ask for one that works with what you want it to do

If you are replacing the rear assemblies with a set like the front then here's some advice. I did that on a '94 Sporty then I had to get a load equalizer cause it wouldn't work correctly. I just use the run/brake/turn module with red lenses. Another note, bulbs come in different amps, one of my bulbs was brighter than the other and I just figured it was the housing pointing up a little more than the other but when I removed the bulb and looked at the bulb base it was a different amp bulb.

Installed the module on my 08 1200L, no problems. They didn't make the module fo wifes 01 1200H. Did some comparison between wiring diagrams of 01 and 08. All wires to rear lights same colors between both bikes. Just changed connectors on module for her bike, Works perfect.

Default '01 Sporty rear light conversion

I think this is the right place. I was trying to help a friend change her rear lights out with the Kuryakyn 4974 smoked tail light LED. She bought the wiring harness for the run/turn/brake function but when we plugged it up the brake light came on but the turn signals wouldn't work at all. They all flash fine when she applies the brakes but nothing blinks when she hits the turn signals... not even the front signals...

Any ideas?

This is her on the bike a few weeks ago... yes, it stands out and gets more looks than our bikes.... wonder why???

i used the run brake turn module like you and had the same problem. i also wasnt happy with the performance of the lights so what i did was buy a used set of front turn signals off ebay and took the bulb sockets out of them and also took the sockets out of my stock rear lights and swapped them so that i could have dual filament bulbs for the rear lights. in order to make them work i had to order the run brake module out of a nightster, now it works like a charm. hope this helps
