Which Bulb Type 1156 or 1157 (Rear Turn Signals Brake lights)?
I ordered the auxiliary turn signal / brake light adapter kit from Harley. \\; I currently have the smoked turn signal lenses and wish to keep them. \\; I want to order red bulbs that will shine thru the smoked lenses. \\; Which Bulb Type 1156 or 1157 will I need??? \\; Thanks.

you need the 1156 bulbs. \\; since you're gonna be using the hd kit, it still uses the single filament bulb, just changes the voltage going to the bulb depending on running/braking, etc.

I did the same thing and ordered the red 1156s. The color started peeling after a month and one burned out. Went to auto store and got red gel caps to put over the original bulbs and they look great.

Custom Dynamics has these bulbs that are natural red glass color.

Thanks guys! \\; I thought it was the 1156, but wanted to make sure before I ordered them from Custom Dynamics since the shipping is more than the bulbs! \\;

my 2006 rg used both the 1156,s were in the rear signals and the 1157,s were front

Kuryakyn red bulbs are a deep, rich red color. \\; J&\\; P cycles, among others, sells them. part # 330-750
Watch out for the truck stop bulbs, they tend to look orange-ish through the smoke lense.
