Default Enrichener Cable Problem

I think I've been struck by the notorious enrichener cable problem. When I pull the choke, it automatically snaps back in and will not stay open. I have to hold it out in order to start the bike. Has this happened to anyone else? What's the fix for it? It's under warranty but I'm curious as to why this happened. I didn't touch anything....lol....at least not this time.

I had that happen to me. It was a bad enricher cable. I don't know the exact details, but I didn't care at that time. Just take it to the dealership and they will replace the cable under warranty. If they don't then it's a $14 part.

I've read that the nut behind the choke (enricher) lever is a tension adjuster. I haven't tried it as I don't have a problem but it might be worth it to grab a wrench and see.

My brother had this problem also and the tension nut couldn't help. They had to replace the cable on his. Try the tension nut first and if that doesn't help, get it to the dealership since it should be covered by warranty.

I just went out and played with the enricher on my 05 1200 C. Forget the nut. Immediately behind the enricher **** is a knurled, round fitting. It almost looks like a very thick plastic washer only it is knurled. Turn that to the left to loosen tension. To the right to tighten tension.

I forgot to mention. No tools required. Just use your fingers.
