Out of curiosity... My '87 and I have had a love and hate relationship for 12 years now, and I've replaced many many many primary gaskets, and EVERY time it still seeps oil just a little bit. It's not a big deal, but my buddies give me **** because there's always a little drop or two under my "typical" harley. Just wondering if anybody had found a solution to the early evo's leakage problem. I've tried silicon beaded gaskets, silicone sealant on both sides of the gasket, Permatex on both sides of the gasket, just about everything. I've also replaced the gasket for the shifter arm, the chain adjuster, the drain plug, and the stud for the mid controls, and have eliminated them as suspects. Most of the time, the leak is towards the front bottom of the primary. Any ideas? thought about doubling up gaskets, but they're 10 bucks a pop and I'm not wasting money if it doesn't work.

BTW, I had a broken clutch cable 50 miles from home two weeks ago, and checked both mating surfaces for knicks and cracks and everything looks fine, and as far as I can tell the primary cover isn't warped. Thank god my bike starts in gear, it was an interesting ride home
