drag bars can be used with the stock risor and clamp cables may be a little short risor change can be made for looks or comfort. a stright higher risor or pullback is a common change while putting on drag bars.

I went with the stock clamps when i put my drag bars on, it helped to stretch me out since im pretty tall at 6'3". I also had the wiring run inside the bars, cleaned everything up reall nice.

I'm also around 5-10 and i just put dragbars on with stock riser and it streched me out alot but i like the leaning forword alittle feel. You will also want to look into a turnsignal relocation kit if you have a 883 custom

I've got 2 bikes with drag bars. Both have about a 4" pullback. One has 6" straight risers and the other has 6" risers with a 1" bend. It all depends on your seat position, the length of your arms and where the grips are most comfortable for you. I even tried the broomstick drag bars but took them off after about 5 minutes (very awkward position and too stretched out).

Mine clear by about 1/2 an inch. I have the 4.5 tank tho, might work out different on a peanut tank, not sure...

Without risers your signals will tickle the tank. If you like the feel without risers I suggest you get the signal relocation kit from HD. It was only about $40 and it really cleans up your controls anyway. I put a 4 1/2" rise with 1 1/2" pullback with my drag bars and they are comfortable.
