Got my helmet and just got back from riding the country roads for about an hour. I can't wipe the damn grin off my face.
I bought a full face helmet since I'm a newbie but I have already experienced the benefit of it as a piece of tire got kicked up and hit me on the face shield. I probably would have a huge red spot on my face if I was wearing a beanie... Great lesson on the first ride.
Love the feeling when people stare at intersections. I'm hooked and my ears are ringing from the loud exhaust but like I said, I can't seem to wipe this damn grin off my face.
PS...I haven't put any air in the tires yet as I wanted to familiarize myself a little with the bike before having to pull into a busy gas station but I feel good now and I'll probably get that taken care of later this evening after rush hour.
ADDED PIC - Not the best background in the world but it's a pic.
Good lookin' bike bro! I got mine back in march and I'm still grinin'!!!
Love the feeling when people stare at intersections.
Yah, one of the first experiences I had was a guy in a Corvette convertible staring at ME at a stop light.
Just wait till you set off car alarms for your first time.
Another ear to ear smile.
Out of curiosity, I've always been into sports cars and very new to the bike world but no one really mentions 0-60 or quarter mile when talking about bikes.
What would be the 0-60 of the 883 and 1200 stock? 4.5 seconds? 5?
Most people don't keep their bike stock for long.
Harley has to limit performance because of emissions.
First thing I did was new pipes, A/C, and a Fuel Management system.
Friend of mine did the exact same thing on a Nighster and he said it made a huge difference.
I didn't really notice a huge difference on my 883.
But I'm perfectly happy with the size of my engine, some Iron owners do a 1200 upgrade but not me.
