Stage one on a 1200 sporty
A buddy of mine has a 2006 1200 FI sporty and wants to do the stage one upgrade.What all is needed for this?Pipes and filter or will he need reprogramed also?Thanks-Jesse

I thought the 06 is Carbed. Wasen't 07 first year for the FI Sporty? My 06 1200C is Carbed. My 07 883L was FI.

2006 is a Carbed Sporty will need to do a Rejet on Stage 1.. On my 04 (Sold) same design, Rejetted to 45 Slow, 180 Main, and Mixture Screw was 2 1/2 turns out .. This is just a guideline on the rejet yours may be different.. Will find good info on Carb rejetting at Sportster.org

As Jay & Carlo point out, an '06 sporty is carb'd. FI sporties came out in '07. If it's an '06, your buddy will need exhaust, AC, & carb rejetting. Some will also add that you could/should do an ignition upgrade at this point too. If it's an '07 EFI, it'll need exhaust, AC, & a new fuel managment program/remap. And if you
