I asked my Indy to order one for me a few months back. I paid $118 for it and installed it myself. I think they are good to protect either the shifter peg or the rear brake pedal.
I've had that one on my 08 1200C for 4,000+ miles, No problems yet. I did have to eat out the holes on the bottom a little. (didn't want to try to bend the bar and crack the chrome) Other than that I love it. Ride safe.
got a buddy with an 883 low, and he's had that engine guard on for about 3 years now, and it still looks new, he stuck pegs on the outsides of it and it looks really comfy when we're on the highway.
I think the aftermarket guards themselves are good however don't use hardware they provide torqued one of the bolts to 19ft.lbs. and snapped it right in half. I went to lowe's and bought grade 8 bolts and used them instead.
