Your speedo will hit the tank with 2" risers and you are also going to have to deal with the gaggle of wires, plugs and indicator lights in that chrome housing.
Your headed down the one thing leads to another slope!!!
Jeez, there are probably 1001 options depending on what you want in the way of a riser and bars. But as Jag said, you've got to figure out what you want to do with all the wires. The C model keep them nicely hidden in the riser.
Yeah.. the wires in the risers is a nice way to hide them.. but if you've ever been inside there its really cramped.. If you could find some risers that have some type of front and back plating to hide the wires I think you would be better off..
I'm doing the Capttawes mod as soon as I get the parts in (nice looking mod, do a forum search). I ordered the instrument mount from a local dealer and it's already been over 2 weeks. I stopped by to check and found that it's on backorder from V-Twin Mfg with no ETA.
I found the same part at Discount Cycle Parts, but the price with shipping is $53 and I would pay only $33 thru the local shop. I already have over $40 into the HD parts to allow moving the indicator lights. So I would have about $95 into the project and that doesn't include any risers or bars.
Oh well, I might just pull the trigger anyway...Winter's just around the corner.
Shoat, I'm not sure yet. I'm back and forth between either T bars or mini apes, 1 1/4" drilled for internal wiring.
I also plan on picking up a wide or mid glide set of raked trees and installing them with some slightly longer fork legs.
Once the cold and inclement weather sets in I'll get serious about searching for parts and I'll decide then. For now I just browse the forums looking for photos and ebay looking for prices. I'm still riding and I don't want to tear down the bike right now.
Only bad weather will put an end to my riding season...
Wow, prices sure changed on that stuff. When I did mine usign the XL/dyna single guage mount and the indicator light stuff 3 yrs. ago I spent a grand total of $40 for all of it including shipping. All total though with bars, new cables, minis and risers I've probably spent $300 which I would imgane is cheap now. Actually plan on going up to 14" narrow apes this winter and maybe 1" risers down from the 3" I have now.
Hiding those cables is no big deal since you see them under the triple tree anyway, just use some cable wrap over them or heat shrink in black and it looks fine.
