Default Risers

What are the tallest STRAIGHT (no pull-back) risers available that are still compatible with the OEM riser clamp? In my vast searches I've only been able to find up to 6 1/2 inches. Drop me a line if any of you have come across something taller...more in the area of 8 inches. Thanks.

The top clamp for the custom model sportsters has a bolt pattern specific to that model only. If you want to change risers you will have to change your top clamp to a low or nightster version if you want to keep your speedo and idiot lights on the bars.

Yeah, I know all that stuff about the XL1200C riser clamp. Sorry, I should've mentioned that I'm changing to the standard H-D clamp.

The Paucho "Glide" Risers have an 8" straight rise but, come with their own top clamps. $88.00 in 09'C.C.I. Cat.

Or.....go with T-Bars that you can get even in 16" heights....No risers required. They come in 2", 4", 6", 8", 10", 12", 14" and so on.......also chrome or black.

I just bought these in black and i love them: http://www.demonscycle.com/Handlebar...-p6901644.html

The most you can go without lengthening your wires and cables is 4 inches. just saying.

yep, but even then if you wanna run them internally, then sometimes you gotta lenghten them at less than 3" rise and especially if the new bars are wider.

T-bars are definitely an option...I've been looking at them as well. I had a look at your link there and it seems those bars only come as high has 8"...which is okay I guess. You don't think a 32" bar width is too wide for a Sportster? My current drags are only 27". Mybe if you got some pictures up I could see...

Width fersure is a major consideration....Myself, I desired the extra width, but that's just me.

I ain't took pics yet cause the new bars, cables, brake hose and speedo mount are yet installed. I'm waiting for a HD-48119 Molex crimp tool to arrive so I can install the HD extended wiring harness I'll need with the taller bars.

You can get T-bars from other suppliers in about any height and width.....Some USA shops will even make them to order....I just suggested them as an extra option for you to consider.
