At 10,000 mi we did the engine build on my RG. The tops of the pistons were caked with carbon. Some really hard stuff. I always fill up w 93 octane at Shell or BP. I was concerned but rhe HD mech said compared to most mine looked pretty good. I use Amsoil PI as per the directions on the bottle. It does help to use some kind of engine cleaner even on a carb engine. I use it in my tractor too. Also in my wood chipper and my super charged Mustang Cobra. If the Amsoil was no longer available Sea Foam would be my next choice.
