How many miles do you have on it? General rule of thumb, if youre not going to be riding for an extended period of time. Connect it to a battery tender and put some fuel stabalizer in the tank. Make sure if it needs it, to have it serviced before you store it.

Is it a new bike, or used? How many miles of the 6000 did you put on? How long has it been since your last service?

Going out and starting the bike every day is a bad idea in my book. If you are just trying to keep a charge on the battery get a tender from some where. i got mine from walmart for under $20. Its call a battery maintainer and it does the same job as the tender you get from Harley for about half the price. All you are doing is heating up the oil enough and when it cools back down causing condinsation build up in the engine. My friend was doing that and by the time spring came around his oil was a milky brown color due to the condinsation. you would want to make sure if your starting your bike you want to ensure the engine ran long enough to get it up to normal operating temp to get rid of the condinsation and that would be you taking a spin for a couple of miles in the cold.

This.

If she is just sitting out there during the cold months, keep a tender on it and some stabil in the tank, as someone already said. Just starting her up for a few minutes everyday is not what you want to do.

We haven't been over 20 degrees for the last week, way to cold for me to ride. But I do go out and check on her everyday.
