Default Nightster B+ connector

I am considering adding a GPS to my Nightster and wanted to hardwire the power to the GPS. I see Harley has an ACCESSORY ADAPTER HARNESS KIT, and the instructions states.."
Locate the B+ (battery positive) connector [160B] under the seat (a Red wire with
an unused Gray connector)". My question is there an available connector on the Nightster. Thanks.

I am not sure if there is an accy. connector. just go to an auto parts store and buy an in-line fuse holder for about $2 and hook it up to the positive battery terminal. If you have the pigtail for the battery tender, you can buy a 2-wire trailer connector wire and hook up to that, then you can unplug it when you are not using it.

I just took an accessory plug (cig lighter) and ran the wires to the battery and mounted the accessory plug under the frame and I have something to charge a cell phone or plug in my gps or whatever I want.

IMO, there is no reason to run a power wire all the way back to the battery or a connector under the seat if you're just going to power a GPS.

Since the GPS is an accessory "instrument", it is best wired into a "switched" power lead, so that its power is turned off when the ignition switch is off.

There are a number of switched power wires available at the front end of the bike that are easy to tap into, including the headlight power leads. A GPS draws a miniscule amount of power and is not going to overload any of the available circuits. You should however use an inline fuse in the wire to the GPS.

If you are using an car type (non motorcycle) GPS that has a cigarette lighter plug/cord, be aware that the lighter plug typically contains a voltage converter module inside of it. You can't just cut off the plug and wire it into a 12V circuit. You will need a separate cable made for hard-wire mounting that has the voltage converter module in the middle of the harness.

In addition to the above post:

While I hardwired my GPS into the existing wiring harness, you may find this option of interest as you could use it for various purposes, especially if you're a smoker.

Just an update to anyone who wanted to know, i was able to find the available B+ connector under my seat.

One question, can you hook-up a battery tender to this?

That's actually what that connector is there for.
