I just put the screaming eagle black slip-ons on my 07 Nightster. Started it up and my engine light came on after a few seconds of running it. Is there anything I need to know about this or do I need to take it in?
Check out the "Stickies" at the top of the previous page. I believe there are instructions on getting the codes. The symtoms will send you in the right direction.
Here is the link even though it is for 04-05 models it will get you in the ball park. if your code is not listed on the link you might be able to google the code and get your answer. Also when you get your code post it on here.
Got the error code from the bike(D1 A9) but I can't find it on google. If I check the Diagnostic trouble code(DTC) for P (PSSpT) I get no rSP, if that makes sense to anyone. Looking more and more like I will have to bring it in. Not happy.
I figured out a little more. D1 A9 is not the code. Some of you might know that it actually stands for DIAG. I felt a little dumb after reading up on that. But I did get to the the aactual DTC. It is P0154 which translate into rear O2 sensor faulty or nonresponsive. I have to wait to let the pipes cool down before I look at my O2 sensor. If I get any more info I will pass it on.

What about the other code sections in PSSpT?
From the above, it looks like you only checked for P. What were the results for about S, Sp, T?
S,Sp, & T all checked out normal. I do think I figured out the problem though. I may have loosened the rear O2 sensor cable. I disconnected it and then reconnected it and no light. Rode the bike for about 20 mins and still no problem. This should be it. I will post more if I run into any more problems. Thanks to those who helped on this.
