07 1200N Nightster Engine Light
i have had a 07 Nighster since june,
i noticed today that when i go through the genral start procedure and start the bike the engine light stays on ? is that normal ? never noticed it before !!!

is it normal for my '88 sportsters oil light to turn on when i turn the key , but shut off the moment the motor is running.
once in awhile it will blink while shifting to neutrual or come on when i shut off the engine before i remove the key

most harleys have a engine light on come before starting the engine, then it goes off ....
my Nightster, engine light comes on and then stays on .... rode for 4hrs today and engine light was on .... been like that as far as i can remember ....

The PCM has a stored code. Could be something as simple as not putting the gas cap on with the correct turns. I turn mine 2 revs.

When I got my nightster, the dealer told me that if I start the bike before the check engine light goes off, the engine will not have prepped properly. it will take 20 starts after that for it to reconfigure and until then it will remain on. Ask your dealer about that feature. I would still take it in just incase something is wrong, but I was told this has something to do withthe fuel injection. Hope this helps
