Mine fit great too...guys, this is an almost 2 year old thread, judging by the OP's sig pic he doesn't even have SE pipes anymore. A new question was asked in post #14.
I just bought and installed these pipes (part# 802499-99A) on my 2000 XL1200C. Now i dont know if im being too picky... but the pipes arent lining up with the header pipes the way i expected them too. I pushed them all the way forward that i could. Do they look normal? Or can that gap be closed up a bit somehow?
I have the "race application only" SEs on my 1200C and the gap looks just like yours. They are on as far as they will go and are both lined up with the crossover pipe perfectly. That's just how they are...no worries.
Yup. A little more digging shows that p/n is for pre-2004.
Sorry Peach, but I guess you are still in the dog house. Return them if you can. Still curious on how you bought these, unless you bought them used.
Yeah...I did stay in the dog-house...but he was kind enough to let me out Sunday for my birthday & the superbowl...LOL
I wish I would have been able to find out that it changed after 04 before hand. I took the Fits XL 99 and later to mean just that... def my mistake! I got them off of a Pawn Broker who didn't know the value of them for a mere $70 bucks & nope they don't looked used one bit very clean inside & out zero marks or rust. I couldn't resist getting them for him once I realized I could get them off the PB for that price! And the Ol' man talks about these pipes like they are the second coming...LOL (I'll deny that statement)
He got over my F/U and is thinking all may not be a loss. He plans to take then to a Fab and see what can be done to fix the prob. I hope it can get righted...cuz he really wants these on his baby. If not...I know I can sell them & get him something else...BUT he will be picking it out cuz I'm out & plan to stay out of the dog house!
Many thx to you CanuckSporty & everyone who commented on my post! It's great to know a female can ask & get help without being snubbed
