Hi to everyone. This is my first post on the forum, sorry to jump straight in but Im curious to know has anyone had any problems with the rubber mount sportys. Ive owned a few harleys, I currently have two 883's a night rod(which some may argue aint a harley) in 2004 I brought a brand new 1200 rubber mounted sporty, I love the ride its awesome, however, its covered just under 14000 miles and has suffered crank failure. I have always warmed it up I have never revved it excessively regularly serviced, so at the present time I'm a little dissolutioned with the new generation models Apparantly the cranks in these models are non rebuilderbull although a harley enginnering shop in the u.k. says they can do it. I was thinking of an xr 1200 this year, but now Im left wondering should I stick with the older ones, one of my 883's has done 22000 in all weathers and not missed a beat. Has anyone else had any major trouble. Thanks.
No problems here. Over 66,000 miles on my rubber mount 06. Had some clutch issues, that middle spring plate design in the clutch basket sucks.
thanks for the reply, dont know why mines gone. I phoned the dealer, he said H.D. would not be interested as its so long out of warranty, Im gonna write to H.D.uk and H.D. milwalkie, I think you guys in the states get better customer care than we do here.
I've got just over 55,000 miles on my 04 and haven't had any internal engine issues other than replacing the clutch spring plate at 48,000.
I,m hoping that mine is a one of manufacture fault, as I don't wanna write the new ones of yet, its nice to hear from guys like yourselfs that have made it to good mileage.thanks.

i think around 30k+ on mine and same issues as above, clutch went, some gaskets and the infumous valve seal issue that the 04's had but shes a solid machine besides that
