Zanotti's and Chicago Harley have them for around $265 + around $20 shipping.

Sorry no, that was for the detachable windshield.
Zanotti's price for the bags is $548...

i have the quick disconnect windshield and love it. i'm 5'10" and with a mustang seat and have no worries. when i bought my 1200c 05 my salesman referred to its use as simply enjoying a ride with it versus holding on without it. man was he right. i have found no problem with hot weather (living in east central florida- currently 96 degrees today!) since you still get some wind from around the sides to keep you cooler. when you stop, no matter what you have in front of you- hot is hot!!! i had a friend who had been toying with the idea of getting one or not, he finally did and it wasn't a month or two later the windshield deflected some road debris that would have resulted in some new dental work had he not had the windshield. i have not had the problem of hot air being deflected up at all. wind resistance is a slight factor, but is somewhat dependant on bike weight/rider weight as well. heavier bikes won't move as much, but even with stiff onshore breezes i get here in florida going over bridges hasn't been a problem (just lean a little and you're good to go...lol). good luck and let us know what ya do...

You guys RAWK. Thanks for all of the shared experiences and advice. I really appreciate it. I'll get the windshield for sure now and give it a go.

i have the standard height hd windsheild and would not do without one.it reduces wind buffeting, bug eating, rock hating.it does help with cold simply for the fact that you don't have all the cold air hitting you.would recommend one in a heart beat.

Windshield on a sporty [:@] , Äą bought a detachable one and Äą can truly say that Äą really hate the look of any kÄąnd of wÄąndshÄąeld on a sportster.
I know that Äąt helps a lot especÄąally when Äąt gets cold but Äą prefer to wear a hat or somethÄąng that wÄąll cover my face than havÄąng a w.shÄąeld on my bÄąke .
Just my 2 cents.
