I can't really tell how it attaches, says it has an offset bracket that fits any 1/2" hole but IMO one mount point is not enough, should have at least two or three mounting points in such a high vibration location.

I like these and want one but I dont know how you would get that hole out of your fender where the factory one was mounted

I have had that same one on my bike for a year now, and not a single problem.
You can fix the hole left in the fender the same way I did mine.
