bike cutting out!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well it is getting very frustrating. I have a 1987 sportster 1100 and when the key is all the way on so that the lights are on, I start the bike and everyting is great until I go to take off. At this point the bike starts to cut out.on acceleration causing it to spit and fart alot. Sometimes it clears itself and sometimes it stays that way. Some times if you turn the lights off and leave just the ignition on it picks right back up. I have checked all the connections, visually traced wires back to the individual breakers and there are no obvious signs of freyed wires or any shorts to ground. I have not checked each wire as it leaves the harness back to the breakers or any of the other instruments for that matter. One thing that I did was replace the right and left control housings, but I took my time to make sure everything went back the way they were when I started my operation. Keep in mind this does not happen all the time. Please help. (Tim)

Not that I'm a mechanic, or even close, but I would check out the spark plugs, or throw some new ones in. At least you would only be out a few dollars. Either that or I would suspect the carb could use a good cleaning.
