please help.
just changed the oil and washed up the bike. took it out for a ride and the starter engaged while i was riding.
can anyone tell me what would cause the started to engage when i turn the ignition on, but i do not push start button.
Pull out the starter relay.
If the starter still engages when turning ignition on, the problem is probably in the starter.
If not, problem is probably starter realy or start button.
Since you just washed the bike I guess something got to much water on it, try to drie starter area
If you use a leaf blower to dry off your bike make sure to blow out the handlebar switch housings real well. I think you may have let water sit in there. I bet you will be fine after the bike dries out real well. The last time I washed my Softail, my turn signals were acting real screwey until the switch housings dried out.
